- Title
Fluorescence: Clinical Evaluation of New Composite Resins.
- Authors
Duro, Fernando Rey; Andrade, Joana Souza; Duarte, Jr, Sillas
- Abstract
The article focuses on the use of fluorescence in the evaluation of dental composite resins. It comments on the importance of optical properties such as chromaticity, translucency, and opalescence in life-like dental restorations and mentions how fluorescence improves the brightness and dynamic appearance of restored teeth. It states that the dental enamel composite resin layer is the primary source of fluorescence in dental restorations while dentin is the source in natural teeth. It talks about the effect chroma and translucency has in fluorescence and mentions the difficulty of reproducing the color and intensity of dentin and enamel in the luminescent spectrum.
