- Abstract
The article presents clinical cases that demonstrate the esthetic possibilities and day-to-day suitability of the new Ivoclar Porcelain System (IPS) Empress 2 for teeth restoration. The system has two components, namely, a pressed substructure made of a lithium disilicate glass ceramic, and a new layering material made of a fluoroapatite glass ceramic. Compared to the original Empress, the IPS Empress 2 provides easy laboratory processing and improved material-related properties, especially with regard to all-ceramic fixed partial dentures and posterior restorations.
