- Abstract
The article presents a case study involving a 27-year-old Caucasian woman who was diagnosed with Laignel-Lavastine and Viard syndrome and had symmetrical loss of subcutaneous fat in the upper half of the body with hypertrophy in the lower half. It offers information about lipodystrophy which is a group of heterogeneous diseases that is characterized by a depletion of subcutaneous adipose tissue. Also mentioned is the acquired partial lipodystrophy (PLD).
