- Abstract
A biography of surrealist and process artist Louise Bourgeois is presented. She was born in Paris in 1911, and moved to New York in 1938 where she became part of the intellectual and aesthetic urban life. She joined the French Surrealist Movement and participated in Abstract Expressionism. In her early works, Bourgeois anticipated the practice of Minimalism and Process Art using the non-traditional materials to create forms and objects with focus on craftsmanship.
