- Abstract
The article discusses a study which describes a project used to predict the risk of attrition of sophomore students at the University of South Florida (USF) in Tampa, Florida. Data from 3,998 new first time in college (FTIC) students at USF were analyzed using logistic regression. The results revealed that pre-matriculation characteristics were useful in predicting retention of FTIC students at USF including membership in Pre-Nursing majors and time elapsed between application and enrollment.
