- Abstract
The article discusses the problem of statelessness, focusing on issues such as awareness, visibility, and identification. It is said that international laws regarding statelessness are not always observed, and there are insufficient statistics available to document the extent of statelessness as a problem. The importance of citizenship status in terms of human rights is emphasized. The reduction of statelessness is said to be in the common interest of the international community, and it is argued that states should do more to encourage stateless persons to become citizens.
