Function of Saccharomyces cerevisae expressing Sk-FAD2 in the synthesis of dienoic fatty acid hexadecadienoic acid and linoleic acid; Recognition of Sk-FAD2 protein as a unique Δ12 fatty acid desaturase in S. kluyveri; Inability of Sk-FAD2 to be repressed by exogenous unsaturated fatty acids.
