- Abstract
The development of critical thinking in 4th year of ESO students from analyses of their stories of the financial crisis Abstract This article presents the results of research on the development of critical thinking among fourth-year ESO students based on analyses of their written reflections on an relevant social problem, the economic crisis of 2008. Our aim is to determine which elements or variables may influence the development of this social thought. We also aim to provide knowledge that will contribute to innovative practice in the teaching of social sciences based on socially relevant issues. This practice also aims to develop students' critical thinking, develop their awareness as citizens, and educate them to become citizens who are committed to and involved in improving society through social actions conducted in the context of their environment.
