- Abstract
The article discusses a study which assessed the relative importance of resting energy expenditure (REE) and activity EE (AEE) in Nigerian and African American women with different rates of obesity. Findings showed that all body size measurements were lower in the Nigerian women. AEE did not differ significantly nor was it related with adiposity. These reportedly indicate that reduction in AEE may have a less role in the development of obesity.
