- Abstract
To study the chemical constituents of water-solubility active site of the roots of Changium smyrnioides Wollf (Radix Changii), the chemical compounds were extracted by water, and isolated by macro-porous resin and normal phase silica gel column chromatography. Their structures were identified on the basis of physico-chemical properties and spectroscopic methods of UV, IR, MS, ¹H NMR and 13C NMR. Eight compounds were separated from 30% ethanol macroporous resins elution and were identified as succinic acid (1), daucosterol (2), 5-hydroxy-8-methoxy-psoralen (3), 4-methoxycinnamic acid (4), 8-methoxy-5-0-β-D-glucosyloxy psoralen (5), D-mannitol (6), (S)2-hydroxyphenylpropionic acid (7), (R)2-hydroxyphenylpropionic acid (8). Compounds 4, 5, 7 and 8 were isolated from Radix Changii for the first time. 5-Hydroxy-8-methoxypsoralen and its glucoside were isolated from the plant for the first time simultaneously.
