- Abstract
The article examines the role of vitamin A in embryonic development. According to the article, research on vitamin A and retinotic acid has given retinotic acid attention as a possible morphogen. The article discusses biological regeneration, morphogenetic gradients, the effect of retinoids on regenerating limbs, the role of vitamin A in the development of the central nervous system, the effect of retinotic acid on a developing chick limb bud, and the use of retinotic acid in other embryonic areas, including gastrulation.
