- Abstract
The letter responds to an article by Ong et al. that discusses the differences between primary and secondary forms of multiple evanescent white dot syndrome (MEWDS). The authors of the letter share their own findings, stating that "trigger MEWDS" is less extensive than primary MEWDS and tends to be located in the same quadrant as the chorioretinal lesion that supposedly caused it. They also emphasize the importance of quantitative measurements and reproducible methods in understanding diseases. The authors conclude that MEWDS may be a disease of the outer retina and can be either idiopathic or triggered by an underlying chorioretinal disease.
