- Authors

- Abstract
The article aims were to :compare the characteristics of the ego development continuum as revealed by incomplete sentences and self-report scales and to ascertain how well the structured personality inventory can estimate the ego development stages as assessed by the Sentence Completion Test. Subjects were 225 males and 423 females, all volunteers at five private high schools and three colleges, two private and one public. All are located in the Baltimore metropolitan area and reflect a wide range of socioeconomic levels. Finally, the present study has presented evidence to support the hypothesis that ego development can be measured reliably by self-report data.
