- Abstract
The present research investigates the influence of race stereotypes on perceptions about black males involved in interpersonal violence. Participants read a vignette depicting an interpersonal violence incident and completed a questionnaire concerning their perceptions of incident. Results indicate that black males involved in interpersonal violence are perceived more negatively than their white counterparts. These findings are discussed in relation to how race stereotypes influence attributions about Black males involved in interpersonal violence.
