- Abstract
Introduction. Clinical demonstration of a neurovascular conflict can take various forms. Most often it is associated with abnormalities related to the cranial nerves: V, VII, VIII, IX and XI, and is observed mainly in adults. In the available literature the above described disorder is extremely rarely reported in children and teenagers. Case report. We present a case of a neurovascular conflict in a 15 year old girl hospitalised with vertigo and simultaneous left - sided hypoacusis. Results and conclusions. As a result of the conducted diagnostics a neurovascular conflict of the anterior inferior cerebellar artery with VII and VIII cranial nerves was identified and declared as the most probable reason leading to the presence of the described manifestations. In the course of the conducted treatment and further observation a slow hearing improvement and a recovery from vertigo were observed. The patient remains under clinical observation. Causes, manifestations, diagnostics and treatment of a neurovascular conflict have been analysed.
