- Abstract
The article presents a clinical study about the isolation of Brucella species from a diseased atlanto-occipital joint of Atlantic white-sided dolphin (Lagenorhynchus acutus). The examination revealed that there is a severe remodeling of the occipital condyles and the atlas. Dorsal and transverse processes of the atlas were also gravely affected. Haematogenous spread is believed to be the cause of Brucella species infection. The chronic nature of the joint lesion was also determined.
