- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 37-year-old male with primary refractory acute myeloid leukemia admitted to hospital for sequential chemotherapy or sibling allogeneic stem cell transplantation. It informs that on day three following stem cell infusion, he became febrile but responded to meropenem, an ultra-broad-spectrum injectable antibiotic. Impact of the antibiotic on clostridium perfringens bacteria in the blood of the person is was evaluated.
