- Abstract
The article focuses on the medicinal use of Schisandra chinensis which grows in Northern China which can be used as a tonic, sedative and astringent agent, as suggested in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia. It presents the characterization of four flavonoid compounds from stems of Schisandra chinensis including quercetin-3-O-β-D-xylopyranoside, catechin-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside and genistein-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside.
