- Authors
Kumar, G. Anil
- Abstract
The article discusses a study highlighting the perspective of male population on non-scalpel vasectomy (NSV) in rural Kerala in India. It aims to assess the awareness, attitude, and behavior of men residing in rural areas toward NSV as a new method of contraception. Results have showed that despite married men's knowledge of male sterilization a significant percentage of its population is not familiar with NSV. The author stresses the need for the Indian government to promote the advantages of NSV including the absence of incision, faster procedure and recovery, less bleeding chances, and less discomfort for men.
