The article discusses research which investigated primary care physician (PCP) practice sites in the U.S. Topics explored include the challenges faced by PCP practices, the use of the National Provider Identifers (NPI) system in identifying and categorizing PCP, the factors that are deemed necessary in practice transformation, and the perceived benefits of the Primary Care Extension Program authorized by the Affordable Care Act (ACA) to small PCP practices.
