- Abstract
The article discusses a study which examines the long-term effect and clinicopathologic differences of African-American (AA) against American patients who were treated with breast conservation therapy (BCT) for early-stage breast cancer. It reveals that expected clinicopathologic differences, however, race was not identified to be an independent predictor of the recurrence among AA patients. It suggests that BCT is a reasonable choice for suitably selected AA patients.
