- Abstract
The article looks at a study regarding the use of benralizumab, a monoclonal antibody against anti-IL5ra (IL-5 receptor alpha subunit), as a treatment for an acute asthma attack when systemic corticosteroids (SCS) is contraindicated. It mentions persistent eosinophilic inflammation was the likely driver for his incomplete recovery and proposed an alternative method of eosinophil suppression. It also mentions benralizumab is a potential adjunct to SCS.
