Stepwise inversion of a groundwater flow model with multi-scale observation data.

- Abstract
Basado en la hidrogeología regional y en la estratigrafía debajo del sitio del Laboratorio Nacional Los Álamos, Nueva Méjico, EEUU se ha construido un modelo de flujo de aguas subterráneas a escala del sitio con más de 20 hidrofacies estratificadas. Se desarrolló un método inverso por etapas para estimar los parámetros de flujo para estas hidrofacies acoplando datos observacionales de diferentes orígenes y en varias escalas espaciales incluyendo ensayos en un solo pozo, ensayos de bombeo en múltiples pozos y datos de monitoreo del acuífero regional. Los análisis de los resultados estadísticos de las medidas de permeabilidad de los afloramientos y pruebas de bombeo o medidas puntuales de permeabilidad (slug test) en un solo pozo fueron usados para definir la distribución prioritaria de los parámetros. Estas distribuciones fueron usadas para definir los valores iniciales del parámetro y los límites superior e inferior para el modelado inverso. Algunas etapas de modelado inverso fueron realizadas incluyendo el uso de datos de depresión a partir de ensayos de bombeo en dos pozos (PM-2 y PM-4) en forma separada, y una inversión conjunta que acopla los datos de ensayos de bombeo de PM-2, los datos de PM-4, y los datos de carga a partir del monitoreo del acuífero regional. Los coeficientes de sensibilidad del parámetro para diferentes conjuntos de datos fueron computados para analizar si los parámetros del modelo pueden ser estimados con precisión con los datos provistos en las diferentes etapas. Los resultados de la inversión en conjunto ofrecen un ajuste razonable para todos los conjuntos de datos. La incerteza de los parámetros estimados para las hidrofacies es satisfecha con los intervalos de confidencia de los parámetros.
