- Abstract
The article discusses how the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is discovering diseases through the enhanced partnership between public health and pathology. It says that pathologists are among the first to encounter infectious disease outbreaks through their partnerships with specialists including epidemiologists, clinicians, veterinarians, and microbiologists. The cornerstone of the public health mission of CDC include rapid response for emerging infectious diseases.
