- Title
COMMENT: REVISIONISM DURING THE FORTY YEARS OF THE CONSTITUTION OF JAPAN.
- Authors
SATO, ISAO
- Abstract
The author comments on the development of explicit revisionism of the Japanese Constitution as of 1990 in light of the governance by the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP). He says that since 1950, revisionism movement stagnated in relation to the proposed changes to the emperor system, Article 9, and fundamental human rights in the Constitution. The author argues that revisionism declined due to the fear that the fundamental values of the Constitution would be significantly altered and the constitutional consciousness of the people were not considered.
