- Title
Follow-up in colorectal cancer: questions to be answered.
- Authors
Wille-Jørgensen, Peer; Balleby, Lis
- Abstract
The authors reflect on the article by E. Strand and colleagues on the different reasons for following patients after colorectal cancer treatment including early detection of recurrence for salvage surgery or palliative treatment, psychological reasons, and quality assurance of treatment. They are critical on various questions related to follow-up such as who should be in charge of the process. They add that almost all medical care systems are suffering pressure to reduce expenditure.
