- Abstract
The article focuses on the use of social media by e-patients (internet patient) on Twitter serves as a means to track the growth and activity of the patient communities and provide a way for patients to interact. It states that community interactions are made possible by use of the # symbol (hashtag) that is used to show a topic on Twitter that allows connections to be formed. It mentions that hashtag for rheumatology was a solution to the problem of connecting people in #rheum community.
