- Abstract
The article presents the results of a study on the effect of using superabsorbent polymer (SAP) to enhance drought tolerance and soil water management on the activity of antioxidant enzyme and peroxidation of lipid in oat. According to the authors, oats treated with SAP have higher water content and leaf water potential than those not treated with SAP. They add that oat treated with SAP under deficit irrigation demonstrated a significant decrease in antioxidant enzyme activities in leaves. They indicate the potential of using SAP to conserve soil water.
