R&D cash boost for Chinese agriculture.
- Abstract
The article reports on the plan of global agribusiness Syngenta to build a research and development (R&D) centre at Zhongguancun Life Science Park in Beijing, China which will focus its efforts on early-stage evaluation of the genetically modified traits of key crops. The company said that it will invest in the facility during its first five years. In related news, European fertiliser firm Kemira has opened its Asian technology centre in Shanghai while French specialty chemicals firm Rhodia began another R&D centre in the city.
