- Abstract
Highly ordered spherical is synthesized by an intermittent microwave heating assisted water-bath reaction and the resulted shows high tap-density of 2.0 g cm-3 and volumetric specific capacity of 325 mAh cm-3 when used as cathode material in Li-ion battery. The high performance of the ordered spherical is explained in terms of the high conductivity and the improved mass transfer kinetics. Such highly ordered spherical with improved volumetric specific capacity will be potentially used in the high-power Li-ion batteries for electric vehicles.
