- Abstract
The author presents a reply to commentaries about their article on the perceived health risk of bushmeat hunting, butchering and eating in Africa. He points out some methods for avoiding infection with wildlife pathogens. He emphasizes the need for understanding the possible cultural basis for perceiving risks. He explains the influence of education and wealth on butchering and eating of bushmeat.
