- Abstract
This article discusses the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Spanish Constitution of 1978. It examines the importance of the Constitution as part of Spain's process of democratization after the rule of Francisco Franco, a period also known as the Transition. The author comments on the primary figures in the drafting of the Constitution, including politicians Manuel Fraga Iribarne, Gabriel Cisneros, and José Pedro Pérez Llorca. She also studies the changes made to the constitutional law over the past 30 years, which includes laws regarding women's rights, same-sex marriage, and reforms related to Spain's involvement with the European Union.
