- Abstract
Objective: to analyze the driving and restraining forces for teamwork in basic family healthcare units. Method: a cross-sectional study was developed with 109 professionals from basic family healthcare units, using a self-administered instruments grounded on Kurt Lewin’s Field Theory, with predefined dimensions that assess the commitment of people (I), interaction of the team (Other) and work environment (Environment), indicating the aspects that drive and restrain teamwork. Results: data indicate that 52% of these forces are driving and 48.0% are restraining, with these being predominant in the Environment dimension. Conclusion: the findings of this study show that these teams have the potential for collective work, especially due to their positive interactions among professionals. This result points out that it is necessary to promote spaces that allow the teams to understand their dynamics, aiming at their improvement.
