- Abstract
The article examines Wal-Mart's efforts to enter the financial services industry and discusses why the U.S. Congress should reconsider its resistance towards Wal-Mart's financial advance. It chronicles the actions taken by Wal-Mart over the last fifteen years to acquire or establish a banking charter. It assesses the effects of Dodd-Frank on the mega-retailer's banking aspirations. It also examines the current state of Wal-Mart's financial capabilities.
