The article focuses on China's loss in guiding world into industrial revolution and modernity. It states that according to historians cancelation of naval voyages was considered to be one of the reasons, expensive maintenance cost and influence of Neo-Confucianism on the government's thought. It mentions that contributing factors to Europe's growth include limited government involvement in the economy, accumulation of wealth and funding of industrial and scientific revolution.
