- Authors

- Abstract
Illicit use of drugs has received tremendous public attention in China in recent years, but little is known about the effectiveness of the get-tough practices, especially those adopted by the police. Due to the lack of official data, this study explores the effectiveness of drug control as perceived by drug users. Using citizen surveys collected in Yunnan province, this research also analyses citizens' perceptions about what is effective in drug control. Policy implications and future research are discussed.
