- Abstract
The article discusses the challenges of providing quality healthcare in the face of limited resources and increasing demand for radiological tests. It highlights the issue of low-value cranial CT scans, which provide little benefit to patients and contribute to unnecessary costs and risks. The article suggests that a combination of strategies, such as implementing guidelines, providing feedback to physicians, and educating all involved parties, would be the most effective way to reduce the number of low-value cranial CT scans. It emphasizes the importance of local institutions taking responsibility and designing appropriate strategies based on their own performance and feedback. The article concludes that reducing low-value cranial CT scans requires long-term involvement from all stakeholders and monitoring of results.
