- Abstract
This article reports on cases of contact sensitization to topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs.) The first report of allergic contact dermatitis from NSAIDs appeared about 15 years ago. Members of GIRDCA have studied 102 patients belonging to Italy, aged 16 to 66 years, which were suffering from contact dermatitis caused due to NSAIDs. All patients were patch tested with GIRDCA standard series of allergens, a series of NSAIDs and their own medicaments. The commonest diagnoses were non-occupational allergic contact and photoallergic contact dermatitis.
