The article discusses the role of tutor evaluations in an open admissions writing center. Topics discussed include the tutor evaluation process at the Suffolk County Community College Writing Center, questions which suggest that evaluations can be important in a form of mapping that goes beyond mere geographical positioning, and results of an assessment of the effectiveness of tutors in meeting student needs.
