- Abstract
The author reflects on the diagnostic criteria from the International Association of Diabetes and Pregnancy Study Groups (IADPSG) for gestational diabetes. The author notes that the threshold is determined as the average values at which the odds ratios for birthweight, percentage body fat and cord blood C-peptide were 1.75-fold higher. The author notes that the new threshold will increase the number of women diagnosed with gestational diabetes.
