- Title
Interpreting the biogeography of South America.
- Authors
Tuomisto, Hanna
- Abstract
The article discusses the author's perception concerning the biogeography of South America. She states that the country has much variation in rainfall, temperature and geology. She noted that variations in soil and river water are considered to be local-scale phenomena and are less important than climatic variation. She believes that rock type and degree of volcanic activity vary along the Andes, enabling rivers to carry mineralogically dissimilar materials.
