- Abstract
A clinical trial was conducted to assess the effectiveness and safety of 5% nicotinamide cream in treating skin field cancerization (SFC) following cryotherapy for actinic keratosis (AK). The trial involved subjects with AKs on their forearms who received cryotherapy and were then randomized to receive either the nicotinamide cream or a placebo cream. After 70 days, there was no significant difference in the reduction of AK count or complete clearance between the two groups. The study suggests the need for further trials with higher concentrations of nicotinamide or different treatment approaches for SFC.
