- Abstract
In one case, the patient brushed the lesions with his toothbrush and released debris, but the lesion returned within a short period of time. Previous documentation apparently represents a continuum with IGPC,[3] considering similar characteristics such as bilateral and symmetrical lesions exclusively located in the gingiva.[2] The etiology of IGPC is largely unknown. In 2017, Noonan et al.[1] introduced the term idiopathic gingival papillokeratosis with crypt formation (IGPC) to characterize whitish-yellow plaques exhibiting a bluntly papillary architecture located bilaterally in the labial attached upper gingiva along the mucogingival junction.
