- Abstract
The article reports on a study of how the occurrences of medical errors are linked with distress of physicians. In the study, physicians recorded the frequency of self-perceived medical errors. Associations of an error with distress and depression were determined using estimating equations. Statistics regarding numbers of medical errors made are provided. The article provides information on methods, participants, and data collection procedures. The results of the study suggest that personal distress is associated with increased self-perceived errors in a reciprocal cycle.
