- Abstract
The article discusses the result of a study which investigated the association between antiepileptic drug (AED) use and falls, fractures, and bone mineral density (BMD) in postmenopausal women using data from the Women's Health Initiative (WHI). It was found that AED use increases the risk for site-specific and total fractures but is not associated with changes in BMD. The study notes that women at risk should pay attention to fall prevention.
