- Authors
Rifkin, Dena E.; Sarnak, Mark J.
- Abstract
The author comments on a study on how a bedside tool can predict the need for post-operative dialysis in patients having cardiac surgery. He explained that researchers used a multicenter registry of cardiac surgeries and associated outcomes in studying how risk can be quantified. He claimed that despite minor limitations, the identification of a score that forecasted risk for dialysis requirement is a vital contribution to the research.
