- Title
Is spirometry essential in diagnosing asthma? No.
- Authors
Levy, Mark L.
- Abstract
The author argues against the use of spirometry in diagnosing asthma. He states that early diagnosis is essential for informing patients if they have the disease and initiating treatment. He also mentioned the importance of experience and training in interpreting test results and use of peak expiratory flow (PEF) measurement as a practical alternative for the diagnostic process.
