- Title
Microglial activation induced by brain trauma is suppressed by post-injury treatment with a PARP inhibitor.
- Abstract
The article presents information on a study conducted on the efficacy of INO-1001, a poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitor, in suppressing microglial activation after traumatic brain injury (TBI). In the study, rats were subjected to controlled cortical impact and subsequently treated with INO-1001 after the TBI. The study concluded that treatment with a PARP inhibitor after TBI can reduce inflammation and improve the brain's histological and functional outcomes.
