- Abstract
The article reports on epidemiological studies of the incidence and prevalence of taste and smell losses or dysfunction, which were discussed at the International Symposium on Olfaction and Taste in San Francisco, California, in July 2008. It is said that taste and smell disorders have crucial impacts on quality-of-life issues. They may also adversely affect diet, nutrition, and overall health status in older people.
