- Abstract
A recent article in Advanced Functional Materials discusses a breakthrough in liver cancer treatment. Researchers have developed a drug-eluting shear-thinning hydrogel (DESTH) that can deliver both chemotherapy and immunotherapy agents. In tests on a mouse liver tumor model, the treatment showed high survival rates and reduced tumor sizes. The hydrogel is delivered via a catheter and promotes efficient ischemic tumor cell death, making it a promising therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma.
